10 Reasons You Should Go Vegan in 2021

It's always a good time to try to eat more vegan/plant-based food. Now in a new year, you may be wanting to try something new. You may be wanting to improve your health, become more educated, or make a positive impact on the planet. Luckily, eating more vegan foods can help you achieve all of these goals.

Here are 10 reasons why you should go vegan in 2021:

1. Being at home, you have time to experiment with different foods and brands to see what you like.

2. There has never been such a variety of vegan foods and brands in all history. More than 1200 new Vegan products launched in January of 2020 alone.

3. Eating a more plant based diet will improve your health. Over time, you will feel better overall. Many research studies have linked vegan diets with lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, as well as a lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer (https://www.vegansociety.com/go-vegan/why-go-vegan). For more information, watch the documentary What the Health as it links health, diet, and diseases to plant and animal based diets.

4. Limiting your animal-based foods will lessen your environmental impact. Meat and dairy industries emit a substantial amount of greenhouse gases, which worsens the effects of climate change. Meat production also uses a LOT more water than meat-alternatives, so by eating plant-based, you are essentially saving water.

5. Buying plant-based foods creates a demand for more, which means that company will do better overall and create more products for you and other vegans.

6. Buying less animal-based foods means you are lessening the demand for animal products and the unhealthy and cruel practices that go on behind the scenes (whether they are “grass fed” or “cage free”, it still happens).

7. More restaurants are putting vegan options on their menus.

8. Many Vegan and plant-based companies support environmental organizations or other charities, so buying their products also supports other causes.

9. There are so many resources, recipes, blogs, brands, and YouTube tutorials to learn how to make any meal vegan.

10. When transitioning to a vegan diet, you are not getting rid of anything you love. Instead, you are substituting for vegan ingredients which is really really easy!
